Total time: 30 minutes | Serves 6 to 8
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped Italian parsley
  • Dash dried red pepper flakes
  • 8 ounces Taleggio, rind removed, flesh diced
  • 1 baguette

Step 1Heat the oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Melt the butter in a skillet over low heat. Add the garlic and cook gently until soft and mellowed but not browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool slightly.

Step 3Scrape the butter and garlic into a bowl. Add the basil, parsley, pepper flakes and Taleggio. Mix well.

Step 4Slice the bread in half lengthwise. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over both cut sides. Set the bread on a baking sheet and bake until bubbly, 15 minutes. Cool slightly before cutting crosswise into 1-inch strips.
