  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter

Step 1Mix the sugar, cinnamon, flour and butter. Set aside.


  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups blueberries

Step 1Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Butter and flour a 10x6-inch baking dish.

Step 2Beat the sugar and shortening until fluffy, then beat in the egg.

Step 3Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder and add to the shortening alternately with the milk. Blend in the blueberries and pour into the baking dish. Sprinkle with the streusel.

Step 4Bake until the top is browned, about 45 minutes.

Each of 8 servings:
401 calories; 280 mg sodium; 43 mg cholesterol; 14 grams fat; 6 grams saturated fat; 65 grams carbohydrates; 5 grams protein; 2.04 grams fiber.
